URGENT!!

Now, more than ever, with the increasing pressure from China, it's Ban on The Dalai Lama to visit Africa, its continued cultural genocide inside Tibet resulting in the
self immolation of monks in-protest, for the first time (in 1000's of years) in Tibetan history, the need to rally awareness and combat human rights violations in Tibet, the urgency to complete this film celebrating Tibetan Buddhist culture and it's impact in the west, is greater than ever!!

YOU ARE THE LEGACY, TODAY

On Saturday, Oct. 22, ( a Buddhist "Dakini Day" ) Cyndi Lee, founder/owner of OM YOGA CENTER is graciously hosting Destination OM in honor of Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo's presence in the upcoming work-in-progress REFUGE~The Journeys film. The occassion celebrates Jetsunma's spiritual journey and humanitarian work through film clips, discussion and Q&A.

The up-close interviews I have completed with Jetsunma for both REFUGE and the feature-length REFUGE~The Journeys cover the main beats of the overall story arc spanning the 1960's, when Beatniks and Hippies flocked to India and encountered Tibetan yogis and yoginis, up to the present day developments in the Western popular culture and spiritual evolution. Halpern

The program includes a screening of selected scenes from the film and interviews, an interactive discussion with founder and owner of OM Yoga Center Cyndi Lee, and a Q&A with David Nichtern, senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition and director / meditation instructor in Shinay and Tonglen, John Halpern.

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, a Briton who traveled to India as a young woman in the 1960's, became a Tibetan Buddhist nun, living in a cave for 12 years and founded the first Tibetan nunnery outside of Tibet. REFUGE~The Journeys also features His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Martin Scorsese, Richard Gere, Oliver Stone, Melissa Mathison and Phillip Glass, among others.

10/29/2011 ~ Tibet House Journey

LIVING CINEMA at Tibet House

To offer participants at the October 29th Tibet House a rich, cultural experience I have worked together with a great team of inspired partners to create a cinematic experience, in real-life, for our guests. I coin the experience LIVING CINEMA because it provides an "experiential reality" of what the film is intended to feel like once it is completed. LIVING CINEMA is an experimental workshop for members of the Tibet House event and a model of what our film will be like.

From Yoga, to Tibetan Medicinal Wines, to a Moving Mandala Dance, to SNEAK PREVIEW from REFUGE ~ The Journeys, Key Panelists and Interactive Q&A we all wish that your October 29th evening will be a complete journey from Tibet 1950's to Tibet House 2011 through REFUGE ~ The Journeys.

It is our sublime honor to invite and to welcome you at Tibet House New York October 29th, 2011

Create the Legacy, Come to the Party!!

Thank You,
John Halpern, Director
